Well, if you still haven’t heard about this amazing show, you must be living under a rock. Don’t worry, we are here to save you time. A must-watch for fans of supernatural thrillers, gripping storytelling, and the nostalgic charm of nerdiness, plus great writing and music.
Aired in 2016 on Netflix, the plot is set in the 1980s in Hawkins, Indiana. Will goes missing while returning home in a mysterious way, and his other friends, Mike, Dustin, and Lucas, go out to find him. Coincidentally, they find someone else, and it’s ELEVEN, well, that’s her name.
Initially, the boys get scared of her as she’s completely bald. Soon after, while Mike is going upstairs to tell his parents, ELEVEN stops him with her mind and closes the door of his garage without even touching it, which rattles the boys. They realize that Eleven has telepathic powers. As they are geeks, they don’t rat Eleven out but rather make her their friend.
Soon after, a few mysterious men in black look for her as she is their prized invention. Well, things really spiral out from there.
The boys look for their friend WILL with Eleven’s help, and later she tells them that he is gone forever and finding him is a waste of time. Well, that does not demotivate them, and they heroically still look for him tirelessly.
Simultaneously, the boys discover something called the UPSIDE DOWN, a parallel universe where supposedly their friend is.
The story really takes off from there, and there’s no coming back. Stranger Things is a gem of a show, and it would really be a crime if you don’t watch it.
