How good was HBO's Succession
Succession is a theatre style drama evolving around Logan Roy & his children and there journey to become the CEO of there fathers multi-billion dollar media company. Market and optics rule the narrative of the show
One thing you need to understand about Logan Roy is that he is a self-narcissist douchebag who likes competition but can’t stand someone who can be next him, hence all the drama. Spoiler, he had a heart attack on the very first episode which leads to the climax of the show.
Kendall Roy is the front runner in this journey he is a woke/semi-liberal guy who occasionally has issues with drugs and continuous need to satisfy people but is ambitious and understands the family business hence the main bull. His most famous dialogue is “WE HAVE TO CONTROL THE NARRATIVE’’
Then comes Roman Roy a charmer, occasionally racist and a whack job. He is a bit like his father. Although he had no interest in the family business at the beginning. Later when Logan made him CFO(right before the stroke), he tasted power and things spiraled from there.
The only daughter Shiv is a political strategist, a liberal from heart who does not share the same view as her father and siblings. From a very young age she realized that Logan had no interest in making her CEO. Her husband Tom is another side character who is an ambulance chaser coming from humble background. He gets alot screentime though alongside Greg a cousin of the siblings.
This show will make you live in a rich guys life and 1000% you can’t stop watching after the very first episode. Logan Roy and his three children each are dealing with there issue and are super ambitious. The family drama is nonstop and frankly addictive.
Kendall, Roman and Shiv love and hate each other at the same time. Jealousy among siblings is rampant in the show and Kendall backstabs him father repeatedly. Fun-fact, no its a major spoiler, none of them win in the end due to this jealousy.
